Donegal had no joy at Ulster Scor Sinsir finals

There was no joy for Donegal competitors at the Ulster finals of Scor Sinsir which was held in Downpatrick, on Saturday night.

Donegal had four finalists in the competition for the first time in a number of years. But all four - Caitiona Solan, Dungloe, solo singing; Lisa O’Donnell, Glenswilly, recitation; the Glenswilly novelty act and Milford, instrumental music - came home empty handed.

“We had high hopes going to Downpatrick on Saturday night that we would have a couple of Ulster champions at least,” Donegal Oifigeach Cultúr agus Teanga, Fergus McGee, told the Democrat.

“Despite them all putting in excellent performances and representing the county well we had no success which is disappointing. But Ulster is just like it is for the football, it is very competitive.

“Hopefully, they will all come back stronger next year.”
