David McLoone is new GAA Development officer

David McLoone, Aodh Ruadh, is the new Donegal Development Officer following his election at Monday night’s meeting of the Donegal county committee.

He replaces his club colleague Terence McShea, who stepped down from the position in January after a little over a year in the job.

McLoone, a son of former county star, Mickey McLoone, defeated former treasurer, Grace Boyle, by 43 to 38 votes in a two way contest for the post.

The development officer has responsibility for all physical development in the county both club and county. But his two major responsibilities are for the county’s new training facilities, Centre of Excellence and Sean MacCumhaill Park.

Meanwhile, county committee gave the executive the all clear to go ahead to get new plans for dressing rooms at the Centre of Excellence at Convoy.
