Naomh Conaill goals sink Dungloe

Dermot Molloy and Seamus Corcoran scored the goals as Naomh Conaill overcame Dungloe in this Division One clash at Davy Brennan Memorial Park.

The game was switched from Dungloe to Glenties on Saturday after Rosses Park was deemed unplayable.

Naomh Conall took full advantage of the move from the start and stamped their authority on the game from very early to lead 1-4 to 0-0 after 15 minutes, before Adrian Sweeney posted Dungloe’s first point.

That was on 17 minutes and with Naomh Conaill continuing to dictate the locals went in six in front at half-time as they led 1-6 to 0-3. Leon Thompson, Eunan Doherty, Darragh Gallagher, Ethan O’Donnell and Dermot Molloy kicked the Naomh Conaill first half points.

Adrian Sweeney, who kicked seven of Dungloe’s points, scored the three first half points.

Leo McLoone kicked the first point of the second half; Adrian Sweeney responded with two converted frees before Seamus Corcoran sunk the dagger with Naomh Conaill’s second goal for a 2-8 to 0-5 lead ten minutes from the end.

Dungloe added four points to Naomh Conaill’s one as the locals collected two more precious league points.
