Fresh from his appearance in the European Masters final in Lithuania, Petre Donegan won the Donegal Snooker Championship at Letterkenny's North West Snooker Club on Thursday.
The Kilcar man, playing in his first Donegal championship, played some great snooker on the night, winning the semi-final 4-0 against defending champion Aidan Devenney.
His victory included a 75 break.
In the final, he met nine times champion Anthony Bonnar.
The first frame was nip and tuck and it was eventually won by Peter.
In the second, when Anthony missed a red, Peter had a magnificent 116 brea,k missing the black.
In the third Anthony got in first again but missed on 24 and Peter rattled in a 75 to take that frame too.
In the fourth Anthony got first opportunity but never made it count and Peter had breaks of 22 and 38 break to leave Anthony 38 behind with 43 on table.
Anthony took both reds and a yellow but missed the green to trail by 22.
Peter potted green and brown and missed the blue to leave Anthony needing three snookers. After a few attempts Peter potted the blue to take his first Donegal title by four frames to nil and also become the oldest winner at 49 .
