Donegal player ratings against Cork

MARKSMAN with Peter Campbell

Mark Anthony McGinley: Again good under the high ball and could't be faulted for the goal. 7.5

Paddy McGrath: Really enjoying his football this year and again covered every blade of Croke Park. Was almost in for his first score. 8

Neil McGee: Was sound and had one great block in the opening half. Got on a few forward runs and was unlucky in the turnover for the Cork goal. 7

Eamon McGee: In from the start, McGee was sound without being spectacular. 6.5

Frank McGlynn: Got through an amount of work and also got on the scoresheet before being withdrawn late on. 7

Martin O'Reilly: Started at centre-back and took the game to Cork in the opening half but faded somewhat in the second. 6.5

Karl Lacey: Got a good point and also got forward, but doesn't have the pace to break tackles as before. 6.5

Michael Murphy: A mixed display from the Glenswilly man. Hit a great first half point, but also gave the ball away a few times. 6.5

Odhrán Mac Niallais: Hit a good second half point, but overall didn't have a big impact on the game. 6.5

Anthony Thompson: Worked hard early and was strong in the tackle playing as a sweeper. 6.5

Rory Kavanagh: Got on the ball for a few good moves, but mostly used in a holding role. 6.

Ryan McHugh: Hit three great points and while not as prominent as in the Ulster final, played a pivotal role in the win. 7.5

Eoin McHugh: After McBrearty, the stand-out Donegal player, who kept Cork on the back foot from the very start, as well as scoring two good points. 8.5

Patrick McBrearty: Rarely will you see a better display from a forward in Croke Park. Was really on fire and 0-11 says it all. 9.5

Martin McElhinney: Did make a couple of good runs from midfield. Had a great goal chance in the opening half but wasn't able to adjust. 6.5

Ciaran Gillespie: In for Eamon McGee, Gillespie did really well and his block at the end on Paddy Kelly was first class. 7

Leo McLoone: In for the last 30 minutes and made a signicant contribution, winning a free and involved in a couple of vital turnovers. 7.5

Christy Toye: In for 20 minutes, the St. Michael's man again made a significant contribution. 7

Mark McHugh, Eamonn Doherty, Hugh McFadden: Not on long enough to rate.
