Naomh Brid had a weekend of celebrations to mark their 40th anniversary with functions in three different venues.
There was plenty of reminiscing for the club formed in 1976 and their first game away to Dunkineely with John McGlanaghy as referee.
They gathered in The Salmon Inn on Friday night; the Country Inn on Saturday night and 7 Arches in Laghey on Sunday night, remembering those who formed the club and some of the successes of the 1980s and 2006.
As part of the celebrations a team of 40 years was selected by a sub-committee, based on the same principle as the All-Stars with three nominations for each position.
The team was selected by those present at the Sunday night function and was: Terence Kilpatrick; Eunan Timoney, John Joe Travers, Shane Gallagher; Dermot Rocky Gallagher, Michael Gallagher, Aidan Walsh; Matt Gallagher, Sean McGee; Dessie McNulty, David Walsh, Pauric Gallagher; Peter Walsh, Pauric McDaid, Dermot Curristin. Subs., Donal Martin, John McCafferty, Rory Sweeney, Shane Walsh, Joey Griffith, Eddie McCaffrey.
