Former Donegal footballer and coach Michael McGeehin is back in football management following the appointment of Peter Creedon as Laois manager.

Creedon, a Cork native and former Tipperary manager, has named the St Eunan’s clubman as part of his management setup and team coach.

The much travelled McGeehin is a championship winner both as a player and as a member of management with his native St Eunan’s.

He has also coached Donegal at underage and senior level in the past. He was Donegal senior coach during John Joe Doherty’s term in the Donegal hot seat.

A highly regarded coach he has also worked with Mayo and Clare at senior level in the past too. He enjoyed great success with Clare and was a member of John Maughan’s backroom team that won the Munster Senior Championship in 1992.

His most recent intercounty job was with Peter Creedon during his term as Tipperary senior manager. Peter Creedon stepped down from the Tipperary job at the end of the 2015 season and was replaced by Kerry native Liam Kearns.

Michael McGeehin is a director of Coaching Ireland based in Limerick and in the past too has worked with Limerick senior footballers.

Peter Creedon was appointed Laois manager earlier this week for a one year term.
