Bruckless man wins Liffey Descent

On Saturday last Edward Broekart, a professional tiler from Bruckless, brought glory to Donegal once more, by coming first (again) and winning gold in the Masters (40 years plus) General Purpose Kayak race on the International Liffey Descent.

When he won, also as a Master, in 2014, his winning time was faster than the winning time for the Seniors (18 years to 40 years).

The International Liffey Descent is held on an annual basis and is the most important race on the Irish kayaking calendar.

Edward, originally from Holland, moved here with his wife around 25 years ago. His three children were all born and raised in Donegal.
