St. Eunan's College, Letterkenny, had an easy victory over St. Pius, Maghera, in the McLarnon Cup with a 2-14 to 3-5 victory.
St. Pius started the stronger going two points clear in the first ten minutes but St. Eunan's settled and then took the lead.
The introduction of Dylan McCroary alongside Niall O'Donnell up front for the Letterkenny boys was a major factor.
St. Eunan's led by 0-8 to 1-2 at the break. The second half was a more open game until the Maghera full-back was shown a straight red card for striking and from the resultant penalty, Niall O'Donnell converted. The incident was a turning point as St. Eunan's controlled the latter part of the contest.
Scorers: Niall O Donnell 1-5 (pen half); Tarlach O'Boyle 1-0; Paddy McColgan 0-3; Kevin Kealy, Shane McDevitt, Dylan McCroary, Aaron Deeney, Brian Alcorn, Shay Doherty 0-1 each.
