Letterkenny Shotokan Karate Club competition

The following are the results of The Letterkenny Shotokan Karate Club Competition that took place in the Aura Leisure Centre on Saturday 5th November 2016.

A number of students from beginners to black belt took part in the Individual Kata and Team Kata Competitions. Awards were given to students for Overall Best Spirit, Male award went to Cormack Quinn and female award went to Kiera Feeney.

An award was presented to Finn Boyle for Best Punch and the Best Kick award went to Athira Prasanth. Two raffle prizes for their participation in the recent Barefoot Walk fundraiser went to Zoe Lynch and Kiera Feeney.

Awards were presented for Students of the year for 2016/2017. Intermediate student of the year Zoe Lynch and Junior student of the year Adam Savva. Senior Student of the Year for 2016/2017 went to Christopher O’Donnell.

The next club grading will take place on Wednesday 30th November and the Christmas Pool party for club members will take place on Saturday 17th December.

Individual Kata Results

White Belts

1st Place – Kiera Feeney, 2nd Place – Fionn Boyle, 3rd Place – Kaleigh Blancherad & Raphael Manlagnit.

Orange Belts

1st Place – Charlene Neeley, 2nd Place – Aoife Gallagher, 3rd Place –Jennifer Neeley & Haseb Nuawz Ridar Kashif.

Yellow to Green Belts

1st Place –Adam Savva, 2nd Place – Zoe Lynch, 3rd Place – Oisin Quinn & Oran Mulligan.

Purple to Black Belts

1st Place –Niall Quinn, 2nd Place – Cormac Quinn, 3rd Place – Athira Prasanth

Team Kata - Juniors

1st Place – Krazy Karate Kids

2nd Place – Crazy Karate Girls

Team Kata - Seniors

1st Place – Water Malone’s

2nd Place – Team I Don’t Care

3rd Place – Hian Sandan Pandas
