Malin

All County League Division 2 fixture: Malin V Ardara on Saturday 1st September in Connolly Park at 7:00pm.

Malin gained an important two points last Sunday away to Termon on a scoreline of Malin 1-12 Termon 1-08.

With fond memories of John McLaughlin Rustard our Annual Malin GAA 5K Walk/Run takes place on Saturday 1st September at 2pm. This was a fabulous community event last year and we hope to see everyone again this year. Adults €10, Kids €5, Family €20.

The Under 9's played Carndonagh on Wednesday with both clubs fielding two teams and some great football played. The under 14 boys had two tough championship matches last week - lost away to Naomh Columba last Tuesday and then to St. Eunan’ last Friday. The under 16’s lost to Steelstown in Inishowen A final against Burt. The Minors are at home to Moville onThursday at 7:00pm.

Well done to Danielle Houghton who represented the club at the U17 Development Academy & All Ireland U17 Blitz last Tuesday in Dublin.

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €1000. The numbers drawn were 4 3 1 6 7 5 2 with the €50 going to Damian McClafferty. Next week’s jackpot is €1050. The previous week’s numbers were 4 6 5 1 2 3 7 with the €50 winner Amy Doherty Leiter, Culdaff.

Sean MacCumhaill’s

Congratulations to the Reserve footballers and management on securing the Division 2 Reserve title on Sunday after overcoming Naomh Muire on a score line of 2.08 to 0.08. The Seniors were also successful in their game winning 3.08 to 0.09 and therefore keeping the pressure on at the top of the table. Both teams are at home next Saturday night to Termon with games penned in for 6.00pm and 7.30pm.

Third Team Championship: The thirds began their Championship campaign on Saturday with an away game to play Naomh Conaill. Despite a strong start to the first half and the second half the lads lost out 2.11 to 0.09 in the end.

Seán Mac Cumhaills Fun Day: The club is holding a fun day on Saturday from 12.00 to 4.00pm. This is a free event which promises to be fun with lots to do and also with prizes to be won. There are underage races, novelty races, penalty shootout, face painting, arts and crafts, small children’s play area characters and other exciting things to do. Tea/Coffee and light refreshments served and great prizes to be won. Come down and enjoy the day!

Annual 5K Walk/Jog/Run: Our Annual 5K takes place on Friday the 31st of August at 7.30pm. Registration takes place from 6.30pm at the clubhouse and all funds raised go towards preparing our underage teams.

All-Ireland Final Tickets Draw: A draw will take place on Thursday night for two adult tickets for adult club members who were registered before the 31st of March for the All-Ireland Football Final. Anyone who wishes to be entered into the draw please contact Eugene Gallagher on 086 609 8801.

Under-12 Hurling Final: Our under 12's were in the County A Hurling Final last Thursday evening in O'Donnell Park. The lads put up a real fight but were unfortunate to by a goal in the end up, 1.06 to 2.06.

Donegal Ladies: Hard Luck to Damian Devaney and the Donegal Ladies footballers who played Cork on Saturday in Dr. Hyde Park in Roscommon.

Donegal Masters: Hard luck to Shaun Boyce and Mark Cannon and the Donegal Masters team who played Dublin in the All-Ireland Semi-Final replay on Saturday in Cavan. In the end up there was only a point in the game but it was Dublin who emerged victorious on a score line of 0.13 to 1.09.

Our ladies travelled to Moville on Sunday morning and came away with a great victory. Final score Moville 4.05 Glenfin 4.12. This brings an end to their league campaign. Their next fixture is the semi-final of the senior championship against Termon. Time and date TBC

Hard luck to the Donegal Ladies who lost to Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday last

The seniors and reserves played Naomh Columba away on Sunday afternoon. The reserves recorded a big victory on a score line on Naomh Columba 0-1 Glenfin 5-17. The seniors continued their good form with a comfortable victory. Final score Naomh Columba 0-4 Glenfin 1-11.

The seniors are home to Bundoran on Thursday night 30th and then both teams are home to Four Masters on Saturday 1st of September at 6.00pm and 7.30pm.

The Third team play MacCumhaill’s at home in the group stages of the senior C Championship next weekend. Date and time TBC.

All underage training this week is at 7pm at the pitch, this includes the u13s, the u13 league begins with an away game to Downings on the 7th September.

Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s lotto Jackpot. Numbers drawn were 14,16, 18 & 24. Tommy McHugh matched 3 numbers and receives the runners up prize of 100e. Next week’s Jackpot stands at €3950.

Last week the men’s team travelled to Carndonagh for the opening game of the championship campaign. Unfortunately, despite dominating the game for long periods of time, Lifford could not hold on for the win, it finished 1-10 to 2-9 in favour of Carn. Scorers for Lifford were James Russell 1-0, Kevin McBrearty 0-5, Lorny Crossan 0-2, Paddy McGhee 0-1, Eoin Glackin 0-1, Paul Lynch 0-1. Next game is against Urris on the 15th September.

Our Seniors have their last league game of the season at home against Kilcar this Saturday evening. At this stage Cloughaneely are safe in Div 1 for another year! Well done all!

O’Ceallaigh memorial handball tournament: Many thanks to everyone who attend the handball tournament on Saturday. A selection of Donegal handballers faced off against the Belfast heavy weights! A ten man strong team from Belfast with countless All Ireland medals travelled to compete against handballers from Ballybofey, Glenfin and our own Cloughaneely contingent.

Last year was the first year for the tournament in memory of John Kelly who played a huge part with successful handball players in our club for years and years.

This year the club sadly lost another man who played a massive part in handball in our club, big Joe Kelly. This year Croke Park have announced that this memorial tournament will be an official competition of the GAA next year and we hope it grows bigger and bigger each year.

CILL CHARTHA

Both Senior and Reserves lost their final home matches of the season to Naomh Conaill on Sunday last. They travel to Cloughaneely on Saturday for their final league matches of the campaign.

Commiserations to our senior ladies who lost the Junior B final to a very strong Killybegs side. It was a great achievement to get to the final and it’s something to build from for next season.

Our minors defeated Termon in the championship quarter-final last week. They were due to play Glenswilly in the semi-final on Wednesday evening.

The U-14s are away to Naomh Columba in the Division 2A Shield semi-final on Friday at 6:30pm while our Under 13s play their first match of the league at home to Naomh Muire on Tuesday evening.

Underage - U-8s. Huge thank you to Bundoran Footgolf and all involved in the organisation of the U8s visit there on Saturday morning .This concludes the U8s season and a huge thank you to Shane O’Donnell and his many mentors for all their hard work coaching the children all year.

U-10s: Well done to all involved in the organisation of Saturday morning's U-10 Blitz. The home team were joined by teams from Kilcar, Four Masters and St Naul’s and a very enjoyable days football was had by all. Training continues on Thursday at 7pm and the final Blitz of 2018 is scheduled for Saturday next in Mountcharles.

Training for the U-13s has now commenced and the lads are in a group with St Naul’s, Four Masters and Naomh Brid/Pettigo. Training continues for the minors in preparation for their co semi final.

Ladies: Training continues for all our underage girls teams at the usual times. The U-13s begin their season with a home fixture against Aodh Ruadh on Sat Sept 1st. Well done to all the underage girls from the club who attended the Co presentation night in Letterkenny on Friday night and to Rhona McEniff and Dervla Carr and the Donegal U-17 Ladies Development Squad who were defeated at the semi final stage of the All Ireland U-17 Blitz held in Abbotstown Dublin last Tuesday.

Senior and Reserve: Both teams travelled to Donegal Town on Sunday last.The Reserves were defeated 4-12 to 2-10 whilst the Seniors drew 1-12 to 3-6. The Seniors have two remaining league fixtures away to Glenfin and home to Naomh Muire.

Congratulations to senior player Alan Russell who won a Senior Championship medal with Donegal Philadelphia and Kyle McNulty who was part of the Donegal Development Squad who won their U-14 All Ireland Hurling Blitz in Abbotstown Dublin both at the weekend.

Golf Classic: Realt na Mara GAA are holding a Golf Classic in the local golf club on Friday 14th September 2018. Teams of 4 are €200. Single Players €50 can also be facilitated on a team. To book your Tee Time please contact club treasurer Philip McGlynn on 087 2561320.

St. Michael’s

Both teams were away to Aodh Ruadh on Sunday last in Ballyshannon and both recorded good victories. The seniors recorded a good victory winning on a scoreline of Aodh Rua 0-4 St. Michael’s 3-13.

The Reserves also recorded a great victory winning on a scoreline of Aodh Rua 3-6 St. Michael’s 3-16.

We round off our League campaign on Saturday 1st September against Glenswilly with the throw ins at 5pm and 6.30pm.

Bingo: The €100 on the Blue Sheet Game at the Bingo Session in Creeslough on Sunday night last was won by Tracey McElhinney Creeslough. The €75 was shared by Mary Coll Ballyboes and Charlotte Breslin Creeslough.

There was no Jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 6,7,8,9,13,18; the Match 5 Winners were Jimmy O’Donnell Birch Hill Creeslough, Leo Brennan Rooskey Creeslough and Thomas McGinley Kilmacloo Creeslough who won €35 each. Minor Board: Our Family Fun Day will be held at the Bridge on Sunday the 9th December at 2pm.

The U13 Group marches take place now during September. Our first game is at home at the Bridge on Friday, September 7th at 7pm against Fanad Gaels.

U-14s: The boys were defeated by Glenswilly on Friday evening last. They are at home to Naomh Ultan this Thursday evening 30th with the throw in at 7pm.

The Minors were defeated by Letterkenny Gaels on Wednesday the 22nd August last.

NAOMH CONAILL

There was no winner of this week Gaa Lotto the numbers drawn out were 05-10-15-25 and the 2x€50 went to Lorraine Brennan, Station Rd and Martin Joyce, Ard Mc Gill. Next week’s Jackpot will be €10,000.

St. Naul’s

Unfortunately our U-14s lost to Four Masters on Friday despite a valiant effort.

There will be an U-10 blitz on Saturday. Please come and support our young players; volunteers would be welcome on the day.

Ladies: We wish our U-13 girls well in Saturday in their game v Glenfin away.

Congratulations to Niamh Boyle and Catherine Campbell on receiving their Donegal LGFA awards.

Well done to Eilish Ward, Michaela Breslin and the Donegal Ladies who did their county proud on Saturday.

Seniors: It was a very competitive weekend for both seniors and reserves against Ardara. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful at the reserve game but played well at senior level to achieve a draw.

Both teams face Naomh Columba on Saturday evening in our home grounds.

Na Rossa

A terrific performance from the senior team saw them register their first championship win this season as Urris made the long trip from Clonmany to Dooey. The lads were always in control of the game until the visitors scored the only goal in the contest to level the match but showing great composure rattled off the next 3 points to secure a morale boosting victory. A black mark in the game though as Patrick Hanlon suffered a sickening injury and required an operation last Monday. The clubs committee wishes him a speedy recovery.

The club lotto draw took place last Monday night in the hall. There was no jackpot winner on the night. Numbers drawn were 1,9,26 and 28. Two lucky dip winners receive €50 Charles McCarron, Brockagh and John Boyle Dooey. Next weeks jackpot now stands at €7150.

The August club 50 Draw also took place on the night. Well done to winners Martin O’Donnell €300, Nicholas Gallagher €100 and Packie Dyre €50.

Four Masters

Club Lotto: There was no winner of the lotto jackpot €6900. The €50 winners in the lucky dip were Alec Reid, Rossylongan & Gerry Timoney, Doonan. The numbers drawn were 5, 15, 19, & 23 Congratulation to all winners. The next draw takes place on Monday 3rd September 2018.

Well done to Beibhinn Reid and Dion Carr ( both in Back row) who played on Donegal U-17 Development Squad in Dublin at the weekend - great to see Four Masters girls on county squads.

Our U-16 boys put in a strong display on Sunday evening 26 August in Newtowncunningham against Malin to qualify for the All County Division 1 League Final. Missing a few regular starters they led by 2-7 to 1-0 at half-time and ran out winners 2-14 to 1-2. Termon now await in the final and no doubt Damien, Tony, Eamonn and the lads are looking forward to the county final and the chance to add further silverware, to the southern title, and cap a fine season for these young players.

Letterkenny Gaels

The weekend of September 8/9th will see the continuation of the Junior Championship with games against Moville and Pettigo to be played.

The Minor footballers claimed victory over St. Michaels in the Championship last week in their Division 2 quarterfinal game. Next up in the semifinal the lads will play Fanad Gaels.

Two Letterkenny Gaels hurlers represented the club at the weekend when they took part in U-14 Development squads. Matthew Winters played at the National Games Development Centre at Abbotstown where the team won the All Ireland Shield Final while in Monaghan GAA Centre of Excellence Caolan Boyle’s team lost out at the semifinal stage by two points.

Congratulations to the Letterkenny Gaels Camogie girls who represented the Club and County in the Ulster U-14 Camogie Blitz at the weekend.

Letterkenny Gaels U11s travelled to Tir Conaill Park in Donegal Town today to compete in the Four Masters U11 tournament. The young Gaels competed very well in each game but the results didn't go their way today.

Next up for Letterkenny Gaels U11s is a home draw against Red Hughs on Wednesday 29th September at Pairc na nGael in the Northern Board U11 Go games series.

This weekend we will host our second annual U-10 Football Tournament at Páirc na nGael. Good luck to all involved.

U-13 girls training continues every Wednesday from 6pm to 7.15pm and Saturday from 4pm to 5.15pm. All welcome.

The U-12 hurlers League campaign concluded last Wednesday evening with a home game to Four Masters.

Gaeil Fhánada

The minors play their second championship match on Friday evening (27th) at Páirc Uí Shiadhail in Portsalon 7:30. They head into the game after victory over Cloughaneely last week.

The U8s parish league will start this Sunday 2nd Sept at 6pm in Portsalon. It will run for approx. 4 weeks.

Gaelic for Mothers and Others starts on Friday September 7th in Portsalon from 7:30 to 8:30pm.

Gaeil Fhánada Le Chéile: Submission date extended until September 1st. And as an added incentive, those who have their forms submitted before then will be entered into a once off draw for €100.

The parish leagues started off for the under 12s on Sunday evening in Portsalon.

Gaeil Fhánada booked their place in the minor Championship semi final with a hard fought victory over Downings in Páirc Naomh Micheál, 1-12 to 1-7.

St. Eunan’s

The Seniors and Reserves travelled to Glenswilly on Sunday afternoon and came away with good victories. The Seniors went behind after the Glen got two quick goals early in the second half, but the lads responded well to win 0-19 to 2-09. The Reserves had a more comfortable win to maintain their 100% record in the league.

The Junior Men also met Glenswilly at the weekend, but they were at home in the Senior C Championship and ran out winners on a score of 2-13 to 1-05. They will meet each other again this weekend with day and time tbc.

The Minor Girls County Camogie Final had to be abandoned near the end after a serious injury to Carndonagh player Mary Kate McCrossan, we wish her a speedy recovery. Details of refixed game tbc.

The Minor Div. 3 team travelled to Convoy for a NRB League game on Monday night and had a good win on a score of 3-12 to 2-06.

The Minor Girls footballers will begin their Championship on Saturday, September 8th with an away game v Aodh Ruadh, BS.

The U16 Girls footballers defeated neighbours Termon in their Co. Championship Final in Glenfin on Sunday after seeing off a late Termon fightback to claim the title for the 3rd year in a row on a score of 1-10 to 2-04. Well done to players and management.

The U16 Hurlers travel to Burt this Thursday evening for their next league game, throw-in at 7pm.

The U14 Boys footballers had their final championship group games last Friday. The Div. 2A team travelled to Malin and had a good win, so they will travel to Glenswilly this Friday night for their semi-final. The Div. 3 team also recorded a good win over Downings and they travel to Red Hugh’s this Friday for their semi-final.

The U12 hurlers recorded a good win over MacCumhaills in their county final last Thursday night in a very close game that could have gone either way with the lead changing hands several times.

The U12 Girls had the great honour of playing in the half-time games at the Senior Ladies All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday in Roscommon and had a great day. The U11 & U9 girls had some great games at MacCumhaill Park on Friday night and they travel to Downings this Friday evening.

The U11 and U9 boys footballers travel to Milford this Saturday morning for games.

The U10 girls travel to Letterkenny Gaels this Saturday for a tournament, thanks to the Gaels for the invite.

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others continues on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm and new players always welcome.

AN TEARMAINN

Our senior mens teams both lost at home to Malin last weekend. This weekend we are away to league leaders Mac Cumhaills. Games are scheduled for Saturday at 5:30 and 7:00pm

The fixtures for the Senior championship are now confirmed and are as follows with our teams competing in Group C. All three games are on Saturday evenings starting with a home game V St Micheal's on 8th Sept, followed by an away trip to Malin on 15th Sept and home to Four Masters on 22nd Sept.

Good luck to our U9 and U10 boys who take part in the Annual Letterkenny Gaels tournament.

Our U14 B team put in another superb performance on Friday last and were devastated to lose out to a Red Hughs goal with the last kick of the game.

On Friday evening our U14 A team travel to play Dungloe in the Donegal Div 1 Championship Semi Final, in Dungloe.

Our Minors exited the Div 2 Championship on Wednesday last when a gallant Kilcar team came from 1-3 to no score down after five minutes to grind out a one point win.

Lotto: Winning numbers drawn were 2,6,15 and 24. No Jackpot or Match 3 winners this week. Open draw winners were James McFadden c/o bingo, L McGettigan and Mary Simons c/o Lagoon. Next draw is in the Nora's with Jackpot being €4500.
