Michael Carroll said Gaoth Dobhair's narrow win over St. Eunan's on Sunday was the perfect result as his team now face into another difficult test in Group B at home to Naomh Conaill on Sunday.

The talented forward, who was kept in reserve and sprung from the bench shortly before half time at O'Donnell Park, could well prove a key man for the Magheragallon outfit as they chase championship honours.

He accepted that there's a long way to go before he or his team-mates can start thinking about the knock-out stages, but the win over a fancied St. Eunan's team puts his team in a strong position in the group.

He spoke to the Democrat's Diarmaid Doherty.

MATCH REPORT: Narrow win for Gaoth Dobhair
