Irish Pool Tour set for Bundoran
The fifth ranking event on the 2010/2011 Irish Pool Association Tour will be held in Bundoran on 21st - 23rd January. To be staged in the Great Northern Hotel, Bundoran the event is a huge treat for local sports fans as well as being a significant boost for the local economy. It is guaranteed to provide excellent entertainment for the weekend as the country's best pool players battle it out for a share of the almost €2500 in prizemoney.
The Irish Pool Tour consists of six events that are held in various locations throughout the country. This is the first time that the tour has gone to Bundoran, but following a huge interest from the northwest the expectations are high that this years event will be a huge success. Over 150 competitors are expected to participate in the Men's event, with upwards of 30 playing the Juniors and 20 in the Ladies. Players from every county in the country will be in Bundoran for the event and the competition is expected to be fierce. A very high local turnout is also to be expected.
Chairman of the Irish Pool Association, John Magee is really looking forward to the event. "It's great to be going to Bundoran. The venue and quality of competition are of a very high standard and this event promises to provide a great start to the new year. This being our fifth event of the season this year's Tour promises to be as exciting as in previous years. A lot of work has gone into making it a success, and I would strongly urge local players to come along and have a go - it'll be a great experience".
