The volunteers gathered this weekend to collect trash off the beach
Approximately 115kg of rubbish was collected off Rossnowlagh beach at the weekend.
The trash was collected by volunteers as part of the community group Friends of Rossnowlagh's monthly beach clean and the Clean Coasts Big Beach Clean.
A water gun, car mat, fake nail, and a glasses repair kit were some of the more peculiar items lifted off the beach.
The Clean Coasts Big Beach Clean 2026 is Ireland's largest annual coastal clean-up initiative, taking place this year from September 18th to 20th.
A spokesperson for Friends of Rossnowlagh shared, “A huge thank you to everyone who turned out and got stuck in today. Didn't make it today? There’s still time to join a Big Beach Clean in Donegal, Sligo or elsewhere in Ireland this September.”
