The weather warning in place for Donegal this afternoon has now been upgraded to Orange Severe Weather Warning for Thunderstorm.
Met Éireann said that it will encompass slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy downpours and potentially large hail.
The impacts of this will be flash flooding, very difficult traveling conditions with poor visibility and potential damage to power lines. It is in place today, Monday, from 3pm to 9pm. The update followed on from the yellow weather warning issued earlier today.
