A dull, wet and breezy Monday for Donegal with outbreaks of heavy rain

Dull, wet and breezy today, Monday, in Donegal, with outbreaks of rain, turning heavy at times.

Highest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds increasing fresh to strong and gusty in the afternoon. Winds will ease later this evening.

Mostly cloudy then tonight with patchy rain, drizzle, mist and fog. More persistent rain will spread from the east overnight and it could be heavy at times. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees. Moderate easterly winds will increase fresh to strong and gusty by morning with gales developing on windward coasts.

Wet and windy to begin on Tuesday, with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. Some transient wintry falls are possible about higher ground during the morning. Clearer, brighter breaks and showers will follow from the south, for a time, before further spells of rain spread up towards evening. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty easterly winds.
