The weather warning is in place until midnight tonight
Met Éireann has issued a weather warning affecting Donegal as heavy rain, sleet and possible snowfall are forecast to move across the county this evening.
The Status Yellow rain warning came into effect this afternoon and will remain in place until midnight. Donegal is included alongside Cavan, Longford and counties across Connacht in the alert.

Forecasters say rain will be heavy at times and may turn to sleet or snow, particularly on higher ground, while winds are also expected to strengthen through the afternoon and evening. The combination of wintry showers and wind is likely to create difficult travel conditions across the county, with motorists warned to expect poor visibility and hazardous roads.
Road users are being advised to slow down, allow extra stopping distance and plan journeys carefully, especially on rural and upland routes where conditions may deteriorate quickly.
The warning arrives on a busy weekend across Donegal, and residents are urged to keep up to date with local forecasts as temperatures are expected to drop after dark, increasing the risk of icy stretches overnight.
