Forecasters say the blustery conditions could lead to difficult travelling conditions, while debris and loose objects may be displaced by the strong gusts. There is also the possibility of fallen branches or trees in exposed areas.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care on the roads, particularly on exposed coastal routes, while homeowners are advised to secure any loose outdoor items ahead of the arrival of the strong winds. Met Éireann continues to monitor the situation and further updates may be issued if conditions change.
