A bright start for some today, Wednesday, in Donegal with sunny spells, especially further west.
Otherwise, morning mist and cloud will gradually break up, allowing sunny spells to develop. It will be dry for most of the day, but cloud will build later with a chance of rain on western coasts by nightfall. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees, highest in the east, in light to moderate southwesterly breezes.
Cloud will continue to thicken tonight with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards overnight, followed by clear spells and scattered showers extending from the west later. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly breezes increasing moderate to fresh westerly towards morning.
Tomorrow, Thursday, will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered blustery showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with a chance of hail and thunder. Feeling cooler than recent days with afternoon highs of 8 to 10 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds, strong near coasts.
