The Dungloe fire service has been called out eleven times in one week, according to the manager of the Gaoth Dobhair fire service.
Nine of the fires the Dungloe fire service were called out to in the last 7 days were bog fires.
The Gaoth Dobhair and Dungloe fire service were called to a fire in Loughanure last night, Wednesday, where the roof of a house was on fire.
The manager of the Gaoth Dobhair fire service, Eoin Mac Giolla Easbuic spoke to Michelle Nic Grianna on Barrscéalta urged people to be exceptionally careful during drier weather.
Mr Mac Giolla Easbuic said that people should not be burning outside from March 1 until the end of August. People can face court proceedings as a result of burning outside.
People often burn bog so when the grass grows again it is nice and green.
He urged people to ring the fire services as soon as possible if they see a bog fire. People will not be charged if the fire in question is a bog fire. He asked people not to burn outside - and not to assume that your neighbour has called if you see a fire.
