Onóir have been delighting audiences since they stormed onto the live circuit over the last year, with demand for tickets far exceeding supply.

But even by their usual standards, sale of tickets for their Christmas Special concert in Ballyshannon has been lightning fast. Tickets for the concert in the Abbey Arts Centre on December 23 went on sale on Thursday morning and sold out only five minutes later.

A spokesperson for the group took to social media to say: "Holy Smokes! That just sold out in 5 minutes!!!!!!! That’s a new record for Onóir.

"Thank you all so much."

The band are keen to ensure that their dedicated fans are not disappointed. They are encouraging people to let them know via comments on their Facebook page if they would like to see another night added.

"We will try our best to make it happen!" the spokesperson said.

Onóir are Tom McHugh, Declan Gaughan, Deane Connaghan and Diarmaid McGee. The four friends came to global attention during the Covid-19 lockdown when their powerful, harmonised rendition of the Auld Triangle recorded at Donegal Castle went viral.

Their talent, innate understanding of music, and commitment to delivering performances of the highest calibre have led to them being in high demand not only in their native Donegal but across the country. They have put together a band of musicians that match their own high standard, and the result is electrifying.

Not since Riverdance at the Eurovision in 1994 has an act grabbed people's attention in this way, and Onóir's star is still very much on the rise.

Here is a flavour of reviews from some of their many fans:

"Onoir are an exceptionally talented group of musicians who are providing both great music and an electric atmosphere at any venue they play... Have attended a few of their concerts and they cater for every genre and age group...A must see to believe group of musicians...."
