After a busy few weeks for the team that have been busy putting up all of Donegal Town’s fantastic Christmas lights display, the big day is almost here.
Everyone is invited to the Diamond at 6.30pm on Thursday, November 30 for the big Christmas lights switch on.
A spokesperson for Donegal Community Chamber said: “Get wrapped ups well, come along and join us as the community prepares for the most magical time of the year.
“Meet Santa Claus and his many merry friends.
“Of course Santa would love to see all the boys and girls of the area coming out to give him a great big Donegal welcome as he arrives on the Diamond. I don’t think he will be checking who is naughty or nice.”
The Directors of Donegal Town Community Chamber CLG would like to take this opportunity to thank their new Contractors Ferm Eng Ltd Jim, James and all their hardworking team for the erection of this year’s Christmas Lights Display.
Thanks are also extended to elected members; Donegal County Council, and Roads Engineer Mark Sweeney who agreed to increase their yearly contribution of €10,000 which is allocated from parking reserves revenue collected in Donegal Town.
“We would also like to express our appreciation to all our local businesses for their generous support for this initiative,” continued the spokesperson.
“Finally, thanks to the Christmas Lights Committee and volunteers who give up their time to make this an evening to remember for families.
“We would like to wish you all a Very Happy Christmas and more important than ever keep our promise to celebrate Christmas, shop local, and spend and stay in Donegal Town.”
Local businesses have been going all out to dress their shop windows for Christmas, adding greatly to the festive atmosphere that is taking hold in the town.
