The South Donegal Nature Network invites all interested to a open meeting in Simple Simon's in Donegal Town.
A spokesperson said: "Do you own a piece of land? Have you thought of planting native trees there? Would you like to learn about grants from the government for this?
"Then come to the meeting on October 15 at 5pm in Simple Simon in Donegal Town!"
The South Donegal Nature Network is a group of locals engaged in the preservation and restoration of nature and the well-being of the people living in South Donegal. Some have already started to develop a native woodland, others are interested in doing so.
In Ireland there is the Native Woodland Scheme 2023-2027" (NWS). The organisation Teagasc is in charge to promote this programme and support interested people.
"We have invited the Local Teagasc Forestry Adviser, Christian Fitzgerald," said the spokesperson. "He will give us an overview about the NWS, the steps you have to take and the grants available.
"Come and join us, bring your ideas and questions!"
