Zach McCrossan has now been referred to the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht, Netherlands
A fundraiser quiz night is to be held in support of the McCrossan family in Letterkenny.
Four-year-old Zach, from St Johnston, has been diagnosed with a rare blood disorder, a high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) that progresses to acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Zach’s only chance is a bone marrow transplant, which isn’t available in Ireland.
He has now been referred to the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht, Netherlands, where he’s expected to be an inpatient for at least three months. Thus far over €150,000 has been raised and you can support the cause on GoFundMe - Our Story – A Family Fighting Together.

“It’s something to bring people together in the evening”, says the event organiser Heather McClean. “I am extremely grateful to all the businesses that have donated prizes so far.
“People have given so much in support of the family already”, she says “my aim with the quiz is to get people off the couch and out for some fun and a catch-up on an otherwise quiet evening.”
