Cruinniú na nÓg launch
Cruinniú na nÓg, the annual day of free creativity for children and young people, will take place on Saturday, June 7.
Throughout Donegal there’s over 35 free events for young people and children, with venues and organisations all over the county taking part, from Carndonagh to Bundoran and Aráinn Mhór to Raphoe, in family resource centres, libraries, arts centres and community halls.
In Letterkenny there are events in the Central Library, Donegal County Museum, Cara House, Smarty Pants Play Centre, The Regional Cultural Centre and An Grianán Theatre. Three of these events are specifically for teenagers: the Manga Comic Workshop in the library, the Synth and Sound Design Workshop in the RCC, and the Youth Theatre Ireland workshops in An Grianán Theatre. All the events are free, and some may require booking in advance.
Cruinniú na nÓg is the brainchild of the Creative Ireland Programme and is organised locally by Donegal County Council’s Culture and Creativity team with young people from the Donegal Youth Council. All information on Donegal events, including booking details, are available at donegalculture.ie. National events and initiatives can be viewed at cruinniu.creativeireland.gov.ie/.
