This annual event brings a sea of colour and excitement as well as action packed racing to the Donegal Town pier.

Teams across Ireland as well as international entrants Bourne River Dragons will compete in these fast-paced 200m races, perfect for spectator viewing with the finish line at the pier. The event is free to spectators, and is a great day out and an opportunity to find out more about why so many people are taking up this support which has been popular in China for thousands of years.
Racing is from 12 noon to 3.30pm.
Last year’s event, as well as local members Deborah Bonner and Cathal Sweeney, featured in the recently aired RTE documentary Dragon Hearts which is available on the RTE player. The documentary gives a great insight into the many benefits of dragon boat racing, particularly for those who have undergone breast cancer treatment.
So come along on Saturday and give the Donegal Dragons and their junior counterparts, Donegal Dolphins as much support as you can.
