Patrice, Gary and their four children on the way to the Netherlands
A day of fun and football is set to take place in Letterkenny to support a local family in need.
Manchester United supporters will face off against Liverpool fans tomorrow at Leckview Park, starting at 3:00 pm. Vinny McLaughlin and Marty Brogan of the V&M Podcast will provide commentary.
The event has been organised to raise funds for the McCrossan family from St Johnston. Earlier this year, Patrice (née Rodgers) was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia; she is undergoing chemotherapy and also travels regularly to Dublin for DLI therapy.
Only months later, her son Zach began to show signs of fatigue and was subsequently diagnosed with high-risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a rare blood disorder that progresses to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Zach could not receive the treatment he needed in Ireland, so the McCrossan Family travelled to the Netherlands. Zach then received a stem cell transplant at the Princess Máxima Centre for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht.
On the day, there will be bouncy castles for the children and a pre, during and post-game set by DJ Bigsie Jr. Additionally, the Gamerz Haven Van will be on site as well as the CMB Mobile Hair and Beauty Van, to keep the whole family entertained.
There will also be raffles with sports and match tickets, signed sports memorabilia, fitness and wellness prizes, beauty and personal care, food and drink, retail and lifestyle and a getaway all up for grabs.
