Following the first event in the town in 1991, the popular Reunion festival took place every three years thereafter and made its final bow in 2024
The Station House Hotel in Letterkenny is the place to be this Friday night, September 26, as the video of the 2024 Letterkenny Reunion has its World Premiere at 8pm.
The two-hour long video has been meticulously edited from hours of footage to showcase the highlights of what were a fantastic four days of events in Letterkenny in August 2024.
Following the first event in the town in 1991, the popular Reunion festival took place every three years thereafter (barring a short hiatus in 2021 due to the Lockdowns) and made its final bow in 2024 after over thirty years of welcoming home former residents of the town to the place of their birth. After the sad passing of their Chairman, Mr. Dessie Kelly, the committee made the difficult decision to call it a day and bring the popular event to a close, and boy did they go out with a bang!

Some of the memories that will be shared on the video will be the opening mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral by Fr. Stephen Gorman and Monsignor Kevin Gillespie, which followed by the dance in the Station House Hotel where the Dapper Granda (Isaac Ortiz) and Glamourous Granny (Anna Shiels) for the 2024 Reunion were announced.
All the events of the Fair Day, the dancing in the Devlin Hall, the Magical Mystery Tour, the Cultural Afternoon and the closing dance (with the traditional singing of Letterkenny Town) are included on the video and will no doubt rekindle fond memories for all who were present. The closing minutes of the video also has a short trip down memory lane with various photos and videos of previous Reunions over the years.
Entry is free and there will be complimentary tea and coffee served also, for the audience to sit and chat as they reminisce with friends and family. Following the showing of the video in the Station House, it will then be available on YouTube for Townies all over the world to enjoy.
The showing of the video commences at 8pm in the Station House Hotel on Friday.
