Donegal Skates set to get the Christmas feeling rolling in Letterkenny in November

The Donegal Christmas market will open as part of Donegal Skates

The Donegal Christmas market will open as part of Donegal Skates, providing a fantastic opportunity for craft, artisan, food and cottage traders to sell their products, connect with festive shoppers and be at the heart of Letterkenny’s very own winter wonderland.

Welcoming this initiative Go Visit Letterkenny committee member, Brian Gallagher of the Station House Hotel, said: “The committee is delighted to be working with the Donegal Christmas Market team this year. It’s all about collaboration; bringing people and organisations together to deliver exciting, high-quality, family-friendly events like this to the town. The Christmas Market will be a fantastic boost for local businesses, a festive highlight for the community and visitors alike, and a great opportunity for local traders to showcase their talents at the heart of Letterkenny’s Christmas celebrations.”

Adding to this Cllr Ciaran Brogan, Mayor of Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District, said: “We in Donegal County Council are proud to support  events like the Donegal Christmas Market, which bring life, energy and economic benefit to our towns.  As Mayor of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District, I’m delighted to see such strong collaboration between local groups like the Go Visit Letterkenny committee, Go Visit Donegal, and event organisers.  We look forward to welcoming visitors from near and far to experience all that Letterkenny and Donegal  have to offer this festive season.”

Traders will be housed in secure, watertight, specially commissioned Christmas Market Huts. Each hut will have its own power supply, and every trader will benefit from a specially crafted marketing campaign designed to showcase their wares and connect them with Christmas Shoppers from all over the Northwest region.

Traders can email christmasmarketsinfo@gmail.com to register their interest. The limited number of  trading spaces are being offered to suitable traders on a first-come, first served basis. Donegal Skates tickets can be booked at www.irelandskates.ie (choose Donegal).
