Ballyshannon Musical Society is preparing to take to the stage to present for the first time, a new musical comedy "The Addams Family". The show will run from Tue 23rd - Sat 27th February, in the Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon.
The weird and wonderful family comes to devilishly delightful life in The Addams Family. This new musical comedy is created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
This is an exciting new show for Ballyshannon Musical Society to perform and they are delighted to have the production team of Moya Ferguson as Director, Niamh Currid as Musical Director and Julianne Murphy as choreographer on board.
‘The Addams Family’ is made up of a wonderful cast including: Farrah Bogle as Morticia, John Larkin as Gomez, Liam Winters as Uncle Fester, Hannah Brennan as Wednesday, Niall Kerr as Pugsley, Emer McShea as Grandma and Seamus McHugh as Lurch. They are joined by the ‘Beineke Family’ played by Ronan Drummond as Lucas, Kevin Lilly as Mal and Mary Hoey as Alice. They are all supported by a magnificent chorus of ‘Ancestors’ who will provide singing, dancing and macabre in equal measure.
"The Addams Family" opens on Tuesday 23rd February, show starts at 8pm and continues nightly until Saturday 27th including a Matinee on Saturday 27th at 3pm, Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon. Booking Office opens Thur 18th Feb, 1pm-4pm, Abbey Arts Centre, Tel: 071 9851375.
