The manager of the Lakeside Caravan and Camping Park, Ballyshannon was the guest speaker at the public launch of a new minibus at Darkley House in South Armagh.
Mungo Sloan travelled East to meet the volunteers, fundraisers and of course the campers who have enjoyed their camping experience at Lakeside.
The cross community group have been camping annually at the Ballyshannon location since 2001 and have benefited from the open space, beautiful surroundings and sporting facilities at the camp site.
Mungo Sloan encouraged funders to get behind the group “whose transformation can be seen at the end of each camp. The opportunity to build team, make friends and enjoy sport cannot be ignored, especially with the rise in mental health.”
The group plan to use the minibus to bring people, especially those without personal transport, to the coast and improve community relations.
