A public meeting on the topic of job creation in Donegal will be held tomorrow night (Friday, April 1) at 8pm in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel, Ardara.
Everyone is invited to attend the event, which has been organised by the Ardara Town Traders.
A spokesperson told the Democrat: “The future of Ardara is the future of our young people. It is vital that we keep our youth at home but to do that we must secure employment for them. If you care about your youth, if the community cares about jobs and if the politicians care about this community and its future, then please come along to the meeting.
“We have invited our public representatives as well as representatives from state employment agencies and we look forward to hearing what is being done to foster job creation in south west Donegal, especially, after our recent job losses here. We also want to know what measure are being taken to make it easier for people who want to start a business to do so and for those already in business to keep their doors open.
“Ardara, mainly through the efforts of local people, achieved great industry and commerce through its tourism, textile industry and Gallagher’s Bakery. “Recent years have seen the town fall on harder times, but the people remain determined to carry on and carve out the best possible future for themselves and their children. We would encourage everyone to come along and make their views known on the night.”
