Hegarty’s Centra, Kilcar, has announced the opening of its newly refurbished 1,800sq.ft. store, representing a €120k investment. The new look store, which includes a new hardward store, employs 10 full and part-time staff from the local community. The shop offers customers an extensive range of fresh fruit and vegetables, a top-class fresh meat offering, a new bakery and a large deli, as well as freshly ground Fair Trade coffee and an award-winning Wine selection.
Hegarty’s Centra has been trading in the heart of Kilcar town for just a few months now and has recently undergone this new-look transformation to provide its shoppers with a range of products and services of the highest quality, at great value prices.
The emphasis on and importance of value is central to the store and its owners, Liam and Kevin Hegarty. The new store’s weekly special offers combined with Centra’s own brand range, multi-deals on fresh produce and the extension of Centra’s ‘Good-to-Go’ range ensure that the local community is provided with the best value offering while maintaining the highest standards of quality and choice.
Commenting on the new store, Liam Hegarty, said: “We have planned this development carefully to meet the needs of the local community and provide excellent value, service, range and quality in a modern, convenient location. This considerable investment indicates our confidence in the local economy and the demand from shoppers for the good value and service we provide each day.
“Our aim is to take the hassle out of the daily lives of consumers through the provision of convenient shopping solutions at good value prices that meet their daily needs.
“Our customers can now purchase fresh and healthy food under one roof without sacrificing quality or value.
“All of this would not be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our team here at Kilcar. We have a strong sense of pride in our store and in the level of service that we strive to provide to our customers each day.”
Martin Kelleher, Managing Director, Centra adds: “Centra Kilcar allows the local community to shop for everything under one roof and this significant investment is further evidence of the independent retailers’ pride and confidence in its community and the demand from shoppers for excellent local shopping facilities. Furthermore, it represents the demands of the local community for quality Irish produce at good value for money prices. The fact that our retail partners are independent benefits both the store and the communities they live and operate in. In this case, Centra has been in business in Kilcar for just a few months but already customers are reaping the great value Centra has to offer, and this has proven to be very responsive to the local needs of the community.”
As part of its commitment to the local community in Donegal and to Irish jobs and suppliers, 75% of goods sold in store is either produced or sourced in Ireland. The total purchases of Irish goods and services made by Musgrave, on behalf of its retail partners in Centra and SuperValu, are worth over € 2.9bn to the Irish economy each year.
Launched in 1979, Centra are Ireland’s leading convenience stores, with 474 stores in the Republic of Ireland.
