The funeral will take place tomorrow morning for the Letterkenny man who died after falling from a bicycle last week in what has been described as a freak accident.

Brian McIntyre, 35, of Windmill View in Letterkenny, died in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin on Saturday evening. He had been found lying unconscious on a footpath at the Glencar roundabout in Letterkenny at about 9.45 pm on Saturday, July 9.

It was initially thought the incident was a hit-and-run, but gardaí said that was not the case. Gardaí cordoned off the area and Mr. McIntyre was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

The funeral is expected to be held at 10 am tomorrow, Wednesday morning, at St. Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny, followed by burial in Leck Cemetery in Letterkenny.

Mr. McIntyre is survived by his mother, Margo Ferry, his father, Benny McIntyre, his brother Martin, sister Tracey and grandmother Annie McIntyre.
