History repeats itself Bundoran for 2012

In these uncertain times it can provide some solace to look back at the past and realise that things don’t change that much and this year’s edition of the Magh Éne Historical Society Bundoran Calendar certainly highlights the consistencies rather than the changes.

In these uncertain times it can provide some solace to look back at the past and realise that things don’t change that much and this year’s edition of the Magh Éne Historical Society Bundoran Calendar certainly highlights the consistencies rather than the changes.

The 2012 Bundoran history calendar contains images from the National Library of Ireland digital archive and some local contributions. Of particular interest to local families will be the photo of the class of 1925 Bundoran Boys National School. Not all the names have been accounted for, so if anyone thinks they can help fill the gaps the assitance would be gratefully received.

The publishing of the calendar, now in its third year, has become an annual event for this local group which meets on a monthly basis throughout the year. Last year’s calendars went as far as New Zealand and across Europe and we already know of three issues that are winging their way to Brazil this Christmas.

Making the perfect stocking filler for those away from home, the calendars cost €7.50 each and are available from Bundoran Community Library, News and Views, McGovern’s American House, Bank House and SuperValu. Alternatively, contact any of the group members or email them at maghenehistory@gmail.com.

Happy New Year from Magh Éne Historical Society, Bundoran.
