Maggie is 100!

South West Donegal will celebrate another centenarian tomorrow (Friday) when Maggie O’Gara reaches the age of 100.

South West Donegal will celebrate another centenarian tomorrow (Friday) when Maggie O’Gara reaches the age of 100.

Maggie, of Muckross, Kilcar, is joining a long list of people from the Kilcar and Carrick areas who have reached the great age of 100 in the last few decades.

Maggie, nee Doherty, was born in Straleel North, Carrick on November 11, 1911. She met and married her husband, Patrick O’Gara and moved the relatively short distance to Muckross, Kilcar, to live the rest of her life.

Maggie will celebrate the special birthday with her family and friends. She had seven children - Hugh, Micheal, Sean, Maire, Brid, Angela (deceased) and Oliver. She also has seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
