Mass for Veronica McCarthy Moore, Letterkenny

A special Mass to mark the recent untimely passing of Veronica McCarthy Moore, Dooen Glebe, New Mills, Letterkenny, will be held in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny on Thursday, January 26th at 8.15pm.

A special Mass to mark the recent untimely passing of Veronica McCarthy Moore, Dooen Glebe, New Mills, Letterkenny, will be held in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny on Thursday, January 26th at 8.15pm.

Veronica, who was 53, died suddenly after taking ill while staying with her parents in her native Ballindine, Co. Mayo before Christmas. Married to Glenties based Detective Garda, David Moore, Veronica was very well known in Glenties and Letterkenny where the couple had lived for some time. A large number of their friends and former colleagues of Veronica, travelled to Co. Mayo for her funeral on Christmas week.

Veronica had a long and distinguished career in nursing at Letterkenny General Hospital. She worked as a staff nurse before taking up a new role as Clinical Placement Co-Ordinator. She took early retirement from the hospital a few years ago. She was also a talented artist and a keen golfer and was a founder member of the Drum Bar Golf Society in Letterkenny along with her husband David.

Members of the society are organising the Mass in Veronica’s memory and they are extending an open invitation to those who might like to pay their respects to join them in celebrating the life of someone who is so sadly missed.

Veronica’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated in Irishtown, Co. Mayo this Saturday at 12 noon.
