TheRE was a great turnout and a wonderful atmosphere at the Donegal Sounds Fundraising Concert in the Nesbitt Arms, Ardara last Friday night.
Ethan Kelly, a 5th year student at Glenties Comprehensive and a DJ for the station organised the event, which featured five bands and three other musical acts.
“We were absolutely delighted with how it all went. Around 120 people turned out and everyone was very enthusiastic.
“We had run discos before but there are so many talented musicians and singers around that we thought it would a good idea to give them a showcase,” he said.
The bands featured on the night were: Detour and Loose Bananas who both were runners-up in Our School’s Got Talent; new bands The JPS Experience and Fusion; and The Retrotones.
Other acts performing on the night included singer Megan Kenny, who was a runner-up in Ardara’s Got Talent, DJ Kevin McGettigan and double-DJ act Ethan Kelly and Conor O’Donnell.
“We’d like to thank all the acts who took part, as well all those who helped on the technical and organisation end of things, and, of course, everyone who came along to make it such a great night,” Conor concluded.
