Free “Winning New Opportunities” programme is coming to Termon. WNO is a 20-hour training programme that helps people who are unemployed to access new education, volunteering, enterprise, and employment opportunities. Topics covered by the specially-trained WNO facilitators include: identifying one’s own skills, strengths, and interests; finding openings in areas of interest to participants; effective interviewing techniques; application form, CV, and cover letter writing; networking for opportunities; and dealing with obstacles and set-backs. To date, WNO training programmes have been run in Donegal, Sligo, Galway, Limerick, and Tipperary; a recent survey found that 92 percent of respondents felt they had benefitted “a great deal” from the programme. The Termon WNO programme is run by Tuath in collaboration with Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta (MFG), and is funded by the International Fund for Ireland. The programme will take place at the Termon Community Hall from Monday, April 4, to Friday, April 8, for four hours per day. Please ring MFG on (074) 9532017 for more information.
