Death of respected Donegal accountant

The death has occurred of one of Donegal Town’s most respected and popular residents after a long and courageous battle against illness.

The death has occurred of one of Donegal Town’s most respected and popular residents after a long and courageous battle against illness.

The well known accountant and community worker, Tony Brennan (73) passed away at Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny on Thursday last (June 21).

He is survived by his wife Carmel, son Hugh, daughters: Mary McGettigan, Caroline (Carly) Thomas, Jackie Brennan and Catherine (Kate) Brennan (Spain), sisters, Mary Bailey (Dublin) and Phyl Brennan (Australia), half brothers and sisters; Paul O’Sullivan (Donegal Town) Sean O’Sullivan (Dublin) Carmel Brennan (Mountcharles) and Marian Coffey (Dingle).

Tony was predeceased by his father Hugh Brennan (Waterford), mother, Mary O’ Sullivan (Donegal Town) and stepfather John O’Sullivan (Donegal Town) grandchildren Ava & Aaron McGettigan, Dylan Thomas and Leanne Brennan.

The funeral mass, attended by a large crowd of friends and family took place in St. Mary’s Church, Killymard on Saturday followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
