Passing of John Roche, Letterkenny

The death has taken place of John Roche of 23 Fortwell Place, Letterkenny. Deceased, who was in his 84th year, was laid to rest in New Leck Cemetery yesterday following Requiem Mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral.

The death has taken place of John Roche of 23 Fortwell Place, Letterkenny. Deceased, who was in his 84th year, was laid to rest in New Leck Cemetery yesterday following Requiem Mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral.

A native of Listowel, County Kerry, he was a member of the Royal Airforce in his early years and worked in a number of posts when he came to reside in Letterkenny. Married to Phyliss (nee McBride from Ard O’Donnell), the couple managed the Barnhill Golf Clubhouse for a number of years. They also resided in England before returning to Donegal.

The late Mr. Roche is survived by his spouse, Phyliss, son, Brian (Somerset, England) daughter, Ann Breach (Lincoln, England), brothers, Tom, Mike and Eamon (all U.K.), Noel (U.S.A.), and David (Listowel); sisters, Eileen (Cork), Dolores (Listowel), Peg and Valerie (both U.K.), grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends to whom sympathy is offered.

Yesterday’s funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Eamonn Kelly, assisted by Fr. Frank McHugh.
