Annual Car Wash: The third annual car wash in Drumkeen takes place on Sunday, June 10th at Drumkeen Crossroads from 10am-3pm. All proceeds are going towards the restoration of Our Lady’s Marian Shrine which is situated close to the crossroads. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
Mass for the Late Paddy Holmes: A Mass will be offered in St Mary’s Church, Stranorlar on Friday at 7.30pm for the repose of the soul of the late, Paddy Holmes, aged 83 years, who passed away recently in Croyden, London. Paddy was formely of Ard McCarron, Ballybofey. He is survived by his wife Rose (nee Ward) Aughaveigh, his daughters Patricia, Bernie, and Rosie, sons-in-law, Peter, Gavin and Tom, grandchildren Tom, Roisin, Josie, Paddy and Cara (London).
He is also mourned by his sisters Mary McKelvey, Curraghamone, Ballybofey and Eileen McKelvey, Cappry, Ballybofey, and many nieces, nephews and extended family to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
Stranorlar Vintage Show: All roads lead to the car park at St Mary’s National School in Stranorlar on Sunday for the second annual Stranorlar Vintage Show. This popular event is run by the school’s Parents Association in order to raise funds for the school and its activities. Motor enthusiasts from all corners of the county and beyond are expected to attend the event which begins at 12 noon.
Twin Towns Friday Club: On Thursday, May 24th, 33 pilgrims from the T.T. Friday Club set out on their journey to Lough Derg. It was a beautiful sunny day as they went on their way travelling on the SITT bus driven by Aidan Lafferty.
They made history as it was the first seniors’ day to take place in Lough Derg. The group were treated to a delicious tea and home baking which was enjoyed by all. This was followed by a D.V.D. about the history of Lough Derg as well as music and dance in the afternoon. Thanks to Fr Mohan who celebrated a lovely interdenominational service.
On behalf of the committee, members, volunteers and all the people who helped in any way to make this such a successful pilgrimage the group would like to say thanks very much.
Mass and Annointing of the Sick: Mass and Annointing of the sick and housebound will take place at 7pm on Friday, June 15th June in St Mary’s Church, Stranorlar. You can help by providing transport and seeing that the sick can take part in this special Mass. Refreshments will be served in the parish centre afterwards.

Twin Towns Environment Group: The Amenity Centre in Stranorlar provides very affordable refuse disposal at €3 per standard black plastic black bag. The centre is open three days per week - Tuesday 8.30am to 2pm. Thursday 10.30am until 7pm and Saturdays 8.30am until 2pm. You can call 9175001 for further information.
Everyone is encouraged to use this facility and to help ensure that their area is kept free from litter.
For those who wish to have a clean-up in their area they can avail of the use of pickers, and get bags and gloves from the BASICC office all year round.
