Tonight Thursday sees the Donegal Bay and Blue Stacks Festival music programme excel with two exceptional shows in Bundoran and Dunkineely. Coiste Cultúrtha Dhún Cheann Fhaola will host the fabulous Boston band Session Americana at, McIntyre’s Bar in Dunkineely from 8.30pm while across the Bay in Bundoran, the brilliant Wild Herrings,on stage together in Donegal for the first time in over twenty years, play a wonderful festival double bill at the Kicking Donkey with local reggae favourites The Raggamuffins, from 10pm.
In what will be an exciting first for the Festival, tonight’s Wild Herrings and The Raggamuffins show will be broadcast live on the web from 10pm – 12 midnight. The broadcast may be accessed by logging on to to www.livestream.com and following the venue directions to ‘Kicking Donkey’. Alternatively, the direct link to the broadcast will be https://new.livestream.com/accounts/1441588/events/11369686.
The internet link-up, which has been organised by The Wild Herrings and facilitated by the management at The Kicking Donkey, will enable members of the Donegal diaspora, wherever they are in the world, to tune-in and enjoy the show.
Boston to Dunkineely
The festival is delighted to be working with Coiste Cultúrtha Dhún Cheann Fhaola, the collective of local musicians and music enthusiasts who have organised a series highly succesful traditional music concerts and events in Dunkineely over the past twelve months. The musicians of Session Americana will feel perfectly at home in the intimate surroundings of McIntyre’s where their ‘gather round the table, swaping tunes, songs and instruments ‘ approach to the live concert performance is sure to go down well. Tonight’s show starts at 8.30pm and Admission is €5, payable at the door. This has all the hallmarks of an exceptional and memorable event, so its advisable to get there early and secure your seat.
