Congratulations to Colaiste Cholmcille’s TY2 Drama Group who did themselves - and their school - proud at the National Finals of the All-Ireland Transition Year Drama Competition.

The students were Runners-Up and won a Special Adjudicator’s Award for Best Ensemble in the competition at the Briery Gap Theatre in Macroom, Co. Cork

They performed ‘What’s For You Won’t Pass You’, a play about a young girl who is forced to make a tough decision about her future.

The play was written and directed by their teacher Mr. Beattie.

Only fifteen groups made it through to the final.

The group left school at 8 am on the Friday morning and were on stage in Macroom at 4pm.

Adjudicators included Michael Twomey of ‘Cha & Miah’ fame.

The students were accompanied by Mr. Beattie and Miss Sue Daly on the trip.
