Killybegs aid worker, Laura Byrne is urging sports fans from all over Donegal to sign up to GOAL Jersey Day, which is taking place this year on Friday, October 11.
The popular annual fundraiser invites people to wear their favourite sports jersey for the day, and make whatever contribution they can afford to GOAL. It takes place in hundreds of schools, businesses and organisations across the country every year, and helps raise vital funds for GOAL’s work across the developing world. It is expected that it will take place at more than 800 locations nationwide this year.
“Jersey Day is great fun and a very simple idea, and after working for GOAL since 2006, I would love to see more people from Donegal sign up and help raise as much money as possible for our work overseas,” said Laura, who is HR Manager for GOAL in their head office in Dublin.
“GOAL is working with some of the poorest people in the world across 13 developing countries, and every cent raised will make a difference.”
