Keadue Rovers Bingo

At last week’s bingo in Kincasslagh Hall, winners of the €100 house jackpots were Mary Boyle (Winnie), Belcruit and Danielle Harley, Gweedore. The club’s lotto jackpot will now be drawn this Friday 20th September and it stands at €4,250.


Deepest sympathy is extended to Mr P.J.Sweeney (Books and Charts), Dungloe on the recent death of his aunt Ms Kathleen O’Donnell (Doney), Saltpans, Dungloe. P.J.is a well known member of the Burtonport Variety Group.

Coffee Morning

The annual coffee morning in aid of the Donegal Hospice will take place in Iggy’s Bar, Kincasslagh on Thursday 19th September. All welcome.

Birthday Boy

Congratulations to Christopher McGlynn, Lackenagh, Burtonport who celebrated his special 21st birthday at the weekend. Christopher is a very popular young man and is a prominent member of Dungloe G.A.A. Club and Keadue Rovers F.C.


The wedding took place in St Mary’s church, Kincasslagh recently of Mr John Pidgeon, son of Mr Jack and the late Ms Phyllis Pidgeon, Swinford, Co. Mayo and Ms Deirdre Logue, daughter of Mr and Ms Dermot and Mary Logue, Belcruit, Kincasslagh. The ceremony was performed by the brides’ uncle Rev Fr Brian Logue, Kincasslagh and Scotland, assisted by Rev Fr Pat Ward P.P. The bride who was given away by her father was attended by her sisters, Maeve, Una and Emer Logue. Bestman was the grooms’ brother David and groomsmen were Philip Dunleavy and Ciaran McDonagh. Child attendants were Aoibhe, Ellie and Nia Boyle (nieces of the bride). The reception was held in the Chuirt Hotel, Gweedore and the honeymoon was spent touring the continent. We wish this young couple, many happy years together.


Deepest sympathy is extended to Ms Beatrice Guinan (nee O’Donnell), Dublin and Belcruit, Kincasslagh on the recent death of her husband Gerry. Gerry was a native of Offaly, and was a regular visitor to Kincasslagh with his wife and family His funeral took place to Belcruit Cemetery, following his funeral mass in Dublin with Rev Fr Matt McInerney officiating at the graveside. He is survived by his wife Beatrice who is a native of Belcruit, sons Shane and Gerard, daughters Denise, Sharon and Breda in- laws including Vinnie and Maura O’Donnell and Ms Anne McGonagle, all who live at Belcruit and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

Halloween Walk

A date for all walkers diary is Friday 25th October for the annual torch light Halloween walk in aid of the Burtonport Railway Walk. This is always a most enjoyable event, and it is hoped that all those using this beautiful walk turn out on the.night. Further details nearer the date.

Community Centre

Burtonport Wednesday social club is re- commencing on Wednesday 18th September. Patricia Swann will be in attendance for six weeks with a fee of €5

Dancing Classes

Irish dancing classes in St Columba’s Community Centre on Mondays at 5pm. Beginners welcome. Enquiries to Eilish Boyle on 087 1156738.

Rowing Club

Congratulations to Burtonport Junior rowing team on their outstanding performance at the Mountcharles regatta on Saturday last. Not alone did these young talented oarsmen win the under 18 race, but also won the under 21 race. The victorious team was Darragh Gallagher, Alan Boyle, Declan Duffy and Curtis Heath with Oscar Duffy as coxswain. Well done also to the other competitors from our locality, the Traigheanna Rowing Team who won the senior men’s competition . Their team was Mick Donerty, Oscar Duffy, Daniel Timoney, Sean Ballagher and Paddy Solan as coxswain. In the mixed race the Traigheanna side were also victorious with a team of Brid and Catriona Solan, Mick Doherty and Sean Gallagher with Paddy Solan as coxswain.

Mullaghduff Hall

Art classes in oils starting back on Thursday 3rd and Monday 7th October from 7.30pm to 10pm in Mullaghduff hall. Enquiries to 0749543481 or 086 3960964.

Walking Group

A meeting will be held in Burtonport Community Centre on Friday 20th September at 8pm for

anyone interested in walking with a companion or within a group. This hopefully will encourage interested adult or senior walkers in the area to come along on the nigh
