A successful series of events has taken place to mark Donegal’s input to the “Wild Atlantic way” tourism route.

Fáilte Ireland held meetings across Donegal to inform the local communities about the Wild Atlantic Way, a new long distance touring route from Donegal to West Cork, a distance of 2500km showcasing the stunning Atlantic coastline of Ireland.

Meetings took place in Dunfanaghy, Ballyliffin and Killybegs. Each meeting had a large attendance which was a healthy sign according to the local Fáilte Ireland manager, Joan Crawford.

“The meetings have been extremely positive with all attendees providing strong contributions towards hidden gems in the area as well as community-led initiatives that could be investigated to showcase the Wild Atlantic Way in their area,” she said.

She also said that she is thankful for the support of the communities and hope in the next few years that it will be a big success across the globe.
