Sean Óg’s pub in Middletown, Derrybeg, will celebrate their 10th anniversary this weekend with three days of live music, family fun and food.
The pub owners and staff are planning a weekend of craic for the pub’s patrons and are turning back the clock with 2001 prices for drink on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The anniversary festivities will run from tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 14, through Sunday, Oct. 16, and the schedule is a busy one. Tomorrow there will be a patron’s night with a barbecue buffet served in a marquee and music by Shennanigan’s. On Saturday, at 2 pm, there will be a farmer’s market (5 euro per stall) with all trader’s welcome, and a cycling race charity event. At 3 pm on Saturday there is a classic car show, and later, at 10 pm, music by the band Kelly’s Men. The family fun day begins at 2 pm on Sunday, with music by An Crannóg, the Gaoth Dobhair-based group of talented young trad musicians, and bouncy castles, a kiddie’s disco, clowns and face painting. Pat Gallagher will play live later on Sunday.
There will be bar food served all weekend and live music all weekend. As well as the nightly headliners, bands appearing over the weekend will include Hi Sir, Kevin Connors, Pat and Fred, Barry Keeney and Martin Sweeney and Steve Clarke.
