The Relay for life is a 24 hour, overnight community celebration and a unique empowering fun event. At the heart of Relay is the opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors and to remember those who have left us.
On May 26-27 next teams of people will take turns walking around a track in An Danlann at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology, Because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the 24 hour event. Otherwise team members are free to socialise, enjoy the live entertainment and participate in lots of fun activities! However, everyone in the community is invited to come along and experience this inspiring event of celebration and commemoration. Two of the highlights during the relay event are the Survivors Lap and the Candle of Hope Ceremony.
Johnny Ward is a member of Solace Donegal Cancer Support Centre and he is organising a Table Quiz in the Bluestack Centre, Drimarone on Friday night next, March 2 at 8pm.
