The Donegal County Community Forum (DCCF) launched its brand new website on Friday evening in An Craoibhín in Termon.
The website (www.donegalcommunityforum.com) was formally launched by Dinny McGinley TD, Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
Mr. James Trearty, local member of the Forum welcomed the large attendance. Gaeltacht Forum and DCCF members Séamus Mac Ruaidhrí and Máirín Uí Fhearraigh outlined the work of the Forum. Speaking about the website, Ms Uí Fhearraigh said:“The website will provide an exciting new information resource for community and voluntary organisations in Donegal and promote the work of those sectors in Donegal.”
Other guest speakers at the launch were Mayor Noel Mc Bride and County Manager, Séamus Neely.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Mc Ginley said: “This website provides a wonderful opportunity for the community and voluntary sector to share information and create a network from which they can all benefit.”
There are five Fora in Donegal - East, Inishowen, North, South and Gaeltacht) - and each has its own section on the website. The Forum is confident that the site will grow over time and new features added as social networking and technology develops.
